Hometown Wealth Management has named Alexandra Chapman as a financial adviser, offering wealth management and investment services through LPL Financial, located at bankESB’s 36 Main St., Easthampton, office.
An Easthampton native, Chapman started at bankESB in 2019 as a part-time teller and transitioned to work in the commercial credit department shortly thereafter. In May 2022, she joined Hometown Wealth Management as operations associate.
Chapman holds a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in financial management from Husson University. In addition, she earned a certificate in small business management from Husson University.

On Nov. 25, Worcester County Sheriff Lew Evangelidis administered the Correctional Officers Oath to the 26 graduating recruits of the Sheriff’s Office’s 62nd Basic Recruit Training Academy at Quinsigamond Community College’s Hebert Auditorium. Among the twenty-six graduates was Officer Romaine Hibbert of Springfield.
Throughout the academy, recruits are exposed to all areas of corrections, including de-escalation, duty to intervene, fire safety, defensive tactics, first responder training, suicide prevention, mental health, and substance abuse. The academy also includes daily physical fitness training, weekly exams on classroom content, and frequent guest lectures/demonstrations from many partners in public safety.

The Springfield Museums announce that President and CEO Kay Simpson was selected as the recipient of the New England Museum Association’s 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award. Simpson received the award during the annual meeting at the 2024 annual NEMA Conference in Newport, R.I., on Nov. 8.
Under Simpson’s leadership, the Museums opened the Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum in 201. A strong proponent of museums as engines of economic development and urban revitalization, she helped establish a cultural district in downtown Springfield and was instrumental in an inclusive public arts initiative that activated a public park that had been closed for decades. Simpson’s service to NEMA includes her work as Chair of the Education Professional Affinity Gathering and membership on the Board of Directors.
