Perrysburg extends moratorium on cannabis business
PERRYSBURG, Ohio (WTVG) – Perrysburg City Council moved to extend a ban on cannabis businesses within city limits.
Council members passed an ordinance Tuesday night to extend a moratorium on granting any permit allowing retail dispensaries, cultivators or processors of cannabis within Perrysburg. Only one council member voted against the ordinance, Council President Kevin Fuller. He said he thinks it’s overstepping into the private sector.
“Moratoriums aren’t a good message, when we’re trying to send a positive message to the business world as well. I understand the city wants to be tactful in how they approach that,” Fuller told 13 Action News.
The vote came the same night council approved a rezoning ordinance to allow commercial use for a 24-acre land plot near Costco in Perrysburg.
