Pete Buttigieg sparks outrage for attacking Trump’s age and fitness for office, after he faced criticism for adding to Biden ‘cover-up’

Pete Buttigieg is trying to flip the script and claim that American voters are now transferring their concerns about fitness for office to Donald Trump after Joe Biden, 81, dropped out.

Criticism against President Biden’s Transportation Secretary ensued after his comments Sunday morning from defenders claiming they aren’t concerned about the 78-year-old former president’s age or mental acuity.

Buttigieg claimed that now that Biden made the ‘selfless’ decision to end his candidacy, voters are confronted with the ‘reality’ of Trump’s mental acuity.

‘No we aren’t and were never concerned about his age, it doesn’t matter to us at all,’ a pro-MAGA user wrote on X. ‘Look at how Harris is as (sic) lot younger than him yet she is as clueless and incompetent as Biden.’

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said that voters are now concerned about 78-year-old Donald Trump’s fitness for office against Vice President Kamala Harris, 59

Biden dropped out of the presidential race last Sunday after weeks of pressure from Democrats to end his campaign following a very public mental decline culminating in a disastrous debate performance against Donald Trump last month.

‘The president made an extraordinary, historic, selfless choice to take himself out of the nominating process and concentrate 100 percent on the presidency,’ Buttigieg told Fox News Sunday host Shannon Bream.

‘I think that was the right choice,’ he continued. ‘I know he’s going to want to sprint through the tape in terms of the work of the presidency. Meanwhile, we have a new nominee.’

Buttigieg, rumored to be a vice presidential candidate contender, continued to prop-up Vice President Kamala Harris and her takeover of Biden’s campaign.

Harris, 59, is the new presumed nominee for the Democratic ticket in November.

‘I’m pretty sure voters are worried about the age and acuity of President Trump compared to Kamala Harris who represents being a generation younger,’ Buttigieg said. ‘And how could anybody not watch the stuff he’s saying, the rambling on the trail and not be just a little bit concerned?’

‘Americans are worried about him in lots of ways and he’s not running against President Biden anymore,’ he continued.

Buttigieg claims that Trump ‘desperately wants to be’ still running against the incumbent president.

Bream pressed Buttigieg on whether Harris knew the extent of Biden’s mental and physical decline as a new poll revealed a huge number of Americans think the VP was involved in a ‘cover-up.’

‘We’re all aware of how he’s doing,’ he admitted. ‘Our country has watched our president lead, and yes, we’ve also seen the fact that he’s 10 years older than he was years ago.’

‘But unlike Republicans, right, who in Trump’s personality cult will take a look at Donald Trump and say he’s perfectly fine even though he seemed unable to tell the difference between Nikki Haley and Nancy Pelosi, even though he’s rambling about electrocuting sharks and Hannibal Lecter, even though he is clearly older and stranger than he was when America first got to know him, they say he’s strong as an ox, leaps tall buildings in a single bounds,’ Buttigieg said.

He added: ‘We don’t have that kind of warped reality on our side.’
