RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The ImmerseCon 24 STEM & Video Game Convention kicked off this Saturday and will continue on through tomorrow.
ImmerseCon 24 is being held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, at the Henrico Sports and Event Center.
8News was there to cover the excitement and innovation that filled the convention center.
“ImmerseCon is a video game and STEM festival that we’re holding at the Henrico Sports and Event Center,” said Jeramy Moore, Media Director for ImmerseCon. “It has three goals primarily, to prepare the region for STEM jobs in the future, to highlight the local geek communities that are here, I call them the enthusiasts communities here, to bring them together, give them a space, celebrate them. I am a part of a few of those communities, so that’s certainly something I appreciate. And then to have sustainability and to be a future forward convention based on experiences, as opposed to based on just vendor sales.”
The ImmerseCon 24 highlighted the diverse range of activities, from robotics competitions to virtual reality demos, capturing the enthusiasm of attendees of all ages.
The convention’s emphasis on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) was evident in the numerous interactive workshops and demonstrations led by industry leaders.
ImmerseCon 24 proved to be a vibrant intersection of education and entertainment, inspiring the next generation of innovators and gamers alike.
