Photos: St. Helena student fashion show

A visit to the de Young Museum’s “Fashioning San Francisco: A Century of Style” exhibit inspired local students to put on their own fashion show at the St. Helena High School auditorium on April 17. 

The show was a broad collaboration that incorporated all of the arts. Students designed and sewed their own outfits. High school art students worked on the project in class and RLS Middle School students worked every Friday after school.

Digital designers from the high school created flyers and the program. St. Helena Drama’s tech crew facilitated the sound and lights. Members of the high school culinary program provided food. Anna-Alicia Fullmer’s St. Helena High School Jazz Band performed during the reception, while the rock band Lambiam and DJ Fred Cutting performed during the show.

“It took the expertise of many students, and they rose to the occasion,” said art teacher Kendra Kelperis.
