Pilots across the country travel to Temple for Central Texas AirFest

TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) – Pilots from across the country came to the Draughon – Miller Airport in Temple to help educate visitors on the history of aviation.

During the show, various planes flew above the crowds, and Dauntless Air Pilot Scott Palmer says it’s always exciting to see children’s reactions.

“I myself was a young kid at airshows and it really inspired me to become a pilot… and I do my best to also instill the love for flying in the next generation.”

Veterans with the All-Airborne Battalion came to parachute out of a military aircraft used in World War Two, and President Darren Cinatl says that these demonstrations can remind visitors of how Aviation has helped our country.

“Our mission is just to make sure that history doesn’t get relegated to a book, and there’s one way to see it and its live and in person, so we get to demonstrate history and living the legacy right in flight.”
