Pixel Watch Feature Drop: Live View and Cardio + Target Load expansions

The three generations of Pixel Watch are not getting an OTA update this month, but December 2024 Feature Drop does bring a handful of additions.

Live View that shows a Nest Cam or Doorbell is coming to the Pixel Watch 2 after debuting on this year’s wearable. You also have the ability to talk from your wrist.

Google is bringing Loss of Pulse Detection to Pixel Watch 3 owners in Germany and Portugal. This feature detects and calls emergency services when your heart stops due to a cardiac arrest, respiratory or circulatory failure, overdose, or poisoning.

Requiring regulatory approval, it joins existing availability in: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

Similarly, Fall Detection is now available in Germany for the Pixel Watch 2 and 3.

As Google did with the Daily Readiness Score a few months ago, Cardio Load and Target Load is coming to the Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2, as well as Fitbit trackers and smartwatches.

On the first and second-generation Pixel Watch, you can view these new stats on your wrist (complication + Fitbit Today app).

The Sense, Sense 2, Versa 2, Versa 3, Versa 4, Charge 5, Charge 6, Inspire 2, Inspire 3, and Luxe owners can see this information in the Fitbit app. This is rolling out starting December 9.
