Planet Fitness holding school supply drive at mid-Michigan locations
FLINT, Mich. – Planet Fitness locations in the Flint and Saginaw area plan to hold a school supply drive to help local kids in need.
All donations will benefit children in grades K-12 at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Flint (“BGCGF”).
The drive is underway at every Planet Fitness location in the area and are accepting donations until close of business on August 9th.
Items being collected range from writing utensils and notebooks to art supplies, backpacks and more.
Some estimates say parents will spend an average of $874.68 on back-to-school this season, according to the National Retail Federation and Prosper Insights & Analytics’ annual survey.
“With family finances stressed by everyday cost increases, we hope the school supply donations we receive and distribute to families in the community help alleviate any strain so they can concentrate on the positive excitement of the new school year,” said Bryan Rief, co-owner and CEO of EPIC Fitness Group, one of the participating franchisees.
Those wishing to donate can show up to any area Planet Fitness location and drop off supplies on the designated donation table inside the club.
