Planet Fitness In Hoboken To Shut Temporarily Next Week

HOBOKEN, NJ — The Hoboken location of the budget-friendly Planet Fitness chain will close later this month for upgrades.

A sign in the window of the Washington Street location encouraged patrons to try their Weehawken or Jersey City locations starting July 29, when the store will be “upgraded with new equipment, amenities and locker rooms.”

The chain is known for low membership rates starting at $15 per month. It also has massage chairs and special events.

The Weehawken location is at 4100 Park Ave., a walk of about 2.5 miles from the Hoboken location (see the route here). The Jersey City location is farther, on the west side of that city, 321 Route 440.
