Planet Fitness in Hoboken Willl Temporarily Close in Hoboken, to Reopen in Late Fall

Planet Fitness has announced it will be closing its Hoboken location temporarily for upgrades. The fitness franchise’s Hoboken location announced it is closing from July 29, 2024 to at least late fall, according to its corporate office.

Located at 605 Washington Street, the Planet Fitness space has been open for a decade, and is arguably the lowest monthly gym membership pricing in the area — as the gym centers are known for their $10/month pricing for members. A sign was posted at the location, stating “We’re excited to share that your club is being upgraded with new equipment, amenities, and locker rooms. Start date: 7/29/2024.” It also noted that it would be closed to members during that time.

Normally a fee to visit other locations, the note shared that “all members are welcome to visit any nearby Planet Fitness while your location is being upgraded.” The locations nearby include Jersey City, Weehawken, and North Bergen.

The gym will close on July 29th, with reopen date unknown but most likely in late fall of 2024.
