Planet Fitness in Lorain honors veterans with photo wall

Planet Fitness, 2000 Cooper Foster Park Road in Lorain, honored United States military veterans Nov. 11 by dedicating a wall of photos of its members when they were in the service.

The wall display, “Thank A Local Hero Happy Veterans Day,” is located near the entrance of the fitness center.

The exhibit is the brainchild of Lauren Przeslica, member service representative at Planet Fitness, who placed the 46 photos of veterans Nov. 10.

“It’s important to honor those who have served,” Przeslica said. “The United States of America is the greatest country, and we are blessed to live here.

“And, I don’t think the veterans get the recognition. I work at the gym and I see a lot of people, but I don’t know them outside of here.”

Przeslica said she wanted more Planet Fitness members to know who the veterans are.

She said she spends a great deal of time in Avon and has noticed the banners with photos along some of the streets that honor veterans.

Przeslica said the least she could do was to get permission from management to ask for photos of veterans to place them on the wall.

“I’m happy,” Przeslica said. “It turned out good.

“The feedback’s been really good. People like it.”
