Planting Seeds for the Future – World Food Program USA

August is National Make-A-Will month, the one month each year dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of having a last will and testament. Learn how including World Food Program USA in your will this month unlocks an immediate gift to support people facing extreme hunger.

With the busyness of daily life, it’s easy to delay this task, but taking the time to create or update your will can protect your loved ones and the causes you care about. A will provides clarity and prevents conflicts by ensuring your assets are distributed according to your wishes.

In addition to these practical benefits, creating a will offers an opportunity to continue making a difference for communities facing hunger. By choosing to include World Food Program USA in your estate plans, you provide lifesaving food for future generations.

This August, you can help end hunger by designating World Food Program USA as a beneficiary in your will, trust or retirement or other accounts, and joining the Zero Hunger Legacy Society.

Until September 30, 2024, for every individual who notifies World Food Program USA that they have included us as a beneficiary in their estate plans, the Heirloom Fund* will unlock $1,000 toward meeting our needs today. Your future gift can make an immediate difference.

Many donors tell us that including World Food Program USA in their estate plans is a meaningful way to extend the impact they are making today. Nancy from Texas shared,

“I believe we all have a responsibility to share our prosperity with others. Therefore, I want to do everything I can, not only while I’m living but also afterwards, to help people survive and thrive. I have included World Food Program USA as a beneficiary of my IRA because I consider it such an important life-sustaining organization.”

If you have already included World Food Program USA in your estate plans by naming us in your will or trust, or as a beneficiary of your retirement or other accounts, please let us know to unlock a $1,000 gift from the Heirloom Fund.

World Food Program USA is here to help you achieve your philanthropic and legacy goals. Please contact Karen Turney, senior director of philanthropy and proud member of the Zero Hunger Legacy Society, at 202-627-3954 or legacy@wfpusa.org if you have any questions about the impact you can make.

*The Heirloom Fund is a special matching fund created by three members of the Zero Hunger Legacy Society to help inspire others to consider a legacy gift to World Food Program USA.
