Plaskolite Expansion Brings Jobs and Growth to Zanesville – WHIZ – Fox 5 / Marquee Broadcasting
ZANESVILLE, OH – Plaskolite is bringing big investments and opportunities to Zanesville, with an expansion that’ll create over 30 new jobs.
Plaskolite, a global leader in manufacturing engineering thermoplastics, announced the $11.9 million expansion in partnership with JobsOhio, Ohio Southeast Economic Development, the Ohio Department of Development, and the Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority. This project will create approximately 38 new jobs and increase production capacity by 85%.
“The impact will be very positive. The wage that Plaskolite offers to its workers is very competitive in our environment. These are positions that are well above our average wage here as a community. These are the types of jobs that really raise the bar for our community, and the types of jobs that our organization is looking to recruit to this area.” Port Authority Executive Director, Matt Abbott said.
The Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority is working on expanding its rail transfer station to help meet the company’s transportation needs for raw materials.
“Locally, we’re looking at enhancements to some rail that’s Port Authority owned that Plaskolite currently uses. We’re looking to enhance that rail yard to meet their needs to be able to bring the raw material they need to be competitive in the market.” Abbott said. “For the rail transfer station, we’re undergoing some engineering now. Actually, there’ll be soil borings that are happening today. So, we’ll have an idea of the cost associated with this.”
Plaskolite is headquartered in Columbus and employs over 2,000 people across 18 locations. Plaskolite’s Zanesville facility is located in the Airport Business Park.
