PlayStation Network down: Gamers fume as thousands blocked from PSN service
If you are trying and failing to access PlayStation services this morning you are not alone. The PSN PlayStation is currently down and not working with thousands complaining that they’ve been left offline. The issues began overnight and are continuing this morning with Sony’s server status page showing key services are having problems. Right now Account management, Gaming and social, PlayStation Video and PlayStation Store are all showing red with PlayStation saying “Some services are experiencing issues”.
Independent website DownDetector.uk, which tracks “when services go down or have outages”, has also reported a spike in the number of people complaining about the PlayStation Network not working properly. At its peak, some 3,500 complaints were being made making this a major issue.
There’s currently no word on what is causing the gremlins but many PlayStation gamers have taken to social media platforms to vent their frustration.
One gamer named Blue posted a message on X, (formerly Twitter) saying, “Playstation network is down… now what am I supposed to do.”
Whilst PSN fan Chance, added: “So I just finished a night shift to come pack to PlayStation servers being down, I just wanted to game man.”
Another PlayStation user said it’s time to switch to Nintendo with a post saying, “PlayStation network being down means it’s time to beat paper Mario on Switch!”
As of December 2023, over 123 million users access the service monthly so it could be a long day for many who can’t now play gamers or sign into their accounts.
Sony has yet to respond about what’s causing the nightmare or when things will be fixed but Express.co.uk will keep you updated.
