YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Reports said witnesses Thursday evening told police a disgruntled employee fired several shots in the air in the parking lot of a West Side business.

Police were called for a fight with gunfire at about 8:45 p.m. to 215 Sinter Court, where reports said a witness told police an employee who was accused of doing something improper on the job earlier had become upset and left.

The employee came back and appeared to be drunk and threatened to kill three supervisors and also threatened to shoot up the business, reports said another witness told police.

The employee then fired several shots in the air from a semiautomatic pistol before driving away toward Division Street. Reports said police found three 9mm shell casings in the parking lot.

Police checked surveillance video and saw the employee’s car in the area where the shell casings were recovered.

Reports said the supervisors told police they were never threatened by the employee but were told by others that the employee did threaten them.
