Police investigating deadly shooting at Henderson shopping center

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Henderson Police and Fire Departments said a male was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon.

Police responded to the 500 block of Marks Street after receiving a report of a shooting around 1:30 p.m..

When officers and fire personnel arrived on scene, they said they located a male bleeding from a gunshot wound. Medical arrived, but he died.

FOX5 crews captured most of the Walmart parking lot taped off. An employee said the store is closed as police investigate.

Henderson police are on scene in the 500 block of Marks Street investigating a deadly shooting Wednesday.

An employee of the Charleys Cheesesteaks, located inside the Walmart, said she saw a man bleeding from a gunshot wound to his chest. She said her boss tried to save the man, but he died in her boss’s arms.

“My bosses are nurses,” she said. “It was very scary, a lot of people are saying it’s dangerous.”

A family member of a Walmart employee said she’s feeling thankful that her family member is alive.

“It’s beyond words knowing that my family member was standing right there, knowing that that could have been my family member,” she said.

She also witnessed somebody trying to help the man who was shot.

“Thank goodness that the team that works at the Walmart were on top of it and when everyone was feeling away, there was one individual that ran towards it and started performing CPR,” she said.

Henderson Police say the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
