Porsche Sends Off the 911 Dakar with One-Off Sonderwunsch Spec

Porsche has marked the end of its exclusive 911 Dakar series with the debut of a unique Sonderwunsch edition, custom-designed for an Italian sports car collector. Unveiled at the Porsche Museum in Zuffenhausen, this one-of-a-kind vehicle blends performance with an artful homage to rally racing.

The Sonderwunsch 911 Dakar, which follows the initial 2,500 production models, elevates the rugged spirit of Porsche’s off-road-ready sports car. Designed to tackle both trails and tarmac, the standard 911 Dakar offers a 50mm height advantage over the Carrera, along with off-road features like reinforced aluminum recovery eyelets and wider wheel arches. Beneath the hood, a 3L twin-turbo six-cylinder engine roars with over 470 hp and 420 lb-ft torque, delivering a powerful boxer sound signature.

This final model showcases a distinctive three-tone paint scheme. Inspired by the Rallye Design Package and the 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally, the car features vibrant Signalyellow and Gentianbluemetallic, complemented by a unique Lampedusablue, a shade crafted in collaboration with the collector. Painted alloy wheel spokes and rim edges echo these colors and even the LED Matrix headlights feature a custom blue accent ring.

Inside, the Sonderwunsch detailing continues with Speedyellow stitching and trims against a sleek black interior. Embroidered “911 Dakar” lettering decorates the headrests, while a leather insert in Speedyellow adorns the gear selector. Additionally, LED projectors cast the Sonderwunsch logo onto the ground when the doors open, emphasizing its exclusive design.

Before heading to its new home, this Sonderwunsch 911 Dakar will remain on display at the Porsche Museum, offering enthusiasts a final look at Porsche’s latest take on an all-terrain icon.
