Portion of I-69 construction wraps up ahead of holiday travel, INDOT says

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) says a construction zone along I-69 has re-opened just ahead of a busy holiday travel week.

INDOT Public Relations Director Hunter Petroviak says the construction work between W Jefferson Blvd. (U.S. 24) and Illinois Road (S.R. 14) has wrapped up.

Construction barrels were recently removed from travel lanes as concrete patching work in that area, which first started on April 9, wrapped up.

Work on I-69 will then move further north when construction resumes after the holiday weekend, INDOT leaders announced earlier this week.

Starting on or after Monday, July 8, INDOT will close the northbound Lima Road exit (311A) for concrete patching and joint repair for at least two weeks.

Around the same time, INDOT says the eastbound Illinois Road (S.R. 14) ramp to northbound I-69 will be closed for about one week for concrete patching.
