Price Chopper Teams Up With Optum For Healthier Shopping Options

We have great news for health-conscious shoppers! Price Chopper has got together with Optum Financial, a technology payment platform, to introduce a easy way for S3 health benefit cardholders to use their health plan funds while shopping for eligible products at all Price Chopper locations.

Effective on October 2nd, customers can now simply show their S3 cards at checkout to instantly pay for a wide range of approved items, letting them make healthier choices for themselves and their loved ones.

Blaine Bringhurst, the President of Price Chopper/Market 32, is very excited about this partnership, stating, “We aim to provide our shoppers with an exceptional selection of high-quality, nutritious offerings.

We are delighted to offer the convenience of utilizing S3 health benefit cards at Price Chopper and Market 32, in addition to various ways to save on products that cater to the preferences of our guests.”

Depending on the cardholder’s health benefit plan, coverage may extend to the purchase of wholesome foods like fresh, frozen, and canned produce, over-the-counter medications, and other items that promote well-being.

Ellie Wilson, MS, RDN, the Lifestyle and Wellness Manager for Price Chopper/Market 32, emphasized the significance of healthy shopping benefits in making healthy eating and living more accessible.

She said that “Expanding access to a wider array of options and supporting food dignity are key aspects of our mission to nurture our neighborhoods. This program will play a crucial role in fostering stronger communities,”
