SALISBURY — Ever Home Plastics will be creating its first U.S.-based facility in Rowan County, a move that will bring a planned $3.65 million investment and approximately 46 new jobs to the area over the next four years.

The Rowan EDC announced on Thursday that the company, which is a subsidiary of Vacane Home Concepts, will be expanding into the Mid-South Industrial Park, a large, recently-redeveloped industrial park located at 7401 Statesville Blvd. The company expects to begin operations in January of 2025.

Vacane’s existing operations are located in Vietnam, and the EDC announced that the Rowan County operations would complement those facilities. The U.S. facility will focus on manufacturing plastic injection molds for home organization products, which will be supplied to retailers such as The Container Store, Walmart, Target, Lowe’s, Dollar General and Family Dollar.

The company plans to invest approximately $3.65 million into its facilities as well as bringing in 46 new jobs, which will have average annual salaries of $57,826.

“We’re eager to bring more job opportunities to our Rowan community, supporting workforce development that will contribute to the long-term prosperity of the region,” Vacane Owner and CEO Leo Hu said.

The EDC noted in its announcement that the organization worked with the N.C Community College System to host workforce training through Rowan-Cabarrus Community College as well as with the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina to bring the company to Rowan County.

The Mid-South Industrial Park, which offered 700,000 sq. ft. directly on the railroad when it was completed in April of 2023, was the subject of a year-long large redevelopment project by Brooklyn-based company SDC 26. The site is best known as the former location of Celanese, Fiber Industries and DuraFiber facilities, all of which formerly employed a large number of people in the community.

“The reuse of Mid-South Industrial Park demonstrates Rowan County’s ability to attract a diverse range of industries by offering turnkey facilities in a strategic location. We look forward to seeing Ever Home Plastics LLC become a part of our business community,” Rowan EDC President Rod Crider said.
