Prosecution rests in trial of Pa. man accused of using business as front for drug making

WILLIAMSPORT-A federal judge has denied a defense motion to dismiss the charges against the man accused of manufacturing fentanyl and its variants in what he claimed was a legitimate research business near Lewisburg.

U.S. Middle District Judge Matthew W. Brann made his ruling Thursday after the defense rested in the fourth day of the trial of Anthony D. Bressi, 52, of Danville.

He found the government’s evidence was sufficient for a reasonable jury to find Bressi guilty of charges of conspiracy to manufacture and distribute controlled substances and possession with the intent to do the same thing.
