PS Plus Brings Back Game After Just 5 Months, Players Not Thrilled – PlayStation LifeStyle
PS Plus Extra has readded a game that left the service just five months ago, prompting some players to express dissatisfaction with the November/December 2024 catalog refresh. 2013’s Grand Theft Auto V departed the service in June, and while it remains a popular game, some players aren’t thrilled seeing a PS Plus re-release for the second time this month.
GTA V not the only game re-released on PS Plus in November 2024
Late last month, Sony announced November 2024’s PS Plus Essential monthly lineup, which was headlined by Ghostwire: Tokyo. The Tango Gameworks title was previously part of Extra, and had departed the service a little over seven months ago at the time of its readdition.
However, Ghostwire: Tokyo’s case was slightly different in that it was part of a different tier prior to being included in Essential. GTA V, on the other hand, was included in the same tier just five months ago.
“To advertise it [GTA V] as a big new addition to PS Plus even though it’s been on there, like, three times is crazy,” one player wrote on Reddit. “At this point, who doesn’t own GTA V?” another asked. We saw similar comments on other gaming forums and social media.
While we understand these complaints, GTA V continues to sell millions of copies, so we’re positive that there’s a significant amount players who are happy to see the game return.
