Legion Sports Bar’s honey jerk chicken wings
With celebrated star athlete co-owners Kam Chancellor and Richard Sherman, the luxe Legion Sports Bar is a perfect fit for the Bellevue nightlife, as well as the Eastside happy hour culture.
The menu is velvet-wrapped comfort, taking classic soul food dishes to an elegant level. Some favorites are the gumbo, which comes with quality seafood like Dungeness crab, and the Creole-style blackened catfish served with a cognac Dijon gravy.
But a sports bar is all about snacks, and Legion’s signature jerk seasoning is sprinkled across its menu from appetizers o entrees. There’s a green tomato relish-topped chicken sandwich that’s a perfect meal unto itself, but for a group, it’s all about the honey jerk chicken wings, or a vegetarian-friendly option of grilled or fried cauliflower dressed in the same spicy-sweet sauce.
