Rangers 1-1 Tottenham: Fan views on Europa League game
We asked for your thoughts after Thursday’s Europa League game between Rangers and Tottenham.
Here are some of your comments:
Graham: Unfortunately another inept performance, from start to finish. Too many players were lazy on and off the ball we have seen this too often this season. They can’t even motivate themselves in a must-win game. We are going backwards again. Something must change please.
Steven: Spurs were lamentable but they still secured a point against an improving Rangers side, with a hostile atmosphere. A win here would not have eased any pressure on Ange, but anything but a win against Southampton will surely increase it.
Phil: You can put it down to the hostile atmosphere in the stadium, you can credit the aggression of Rangers, but we have seen similar Spurs displays in far less intimidating venues and even when playing at home. This is because Ange is not up to the job. He is a nice bloke but is tactically inept.
Paolo: This team has sadly become a group of players who don’t have the quality or desire required and have thrown in the towel, which also looks like what the manager has done. Yes, Daniel Levy is massively to blame but the issues that have plagued Ange’s tenure have never been addressed, which leads me to think a change of manager is required. He never seems to acknowledge the issues we have.
George: At the moment, we are stuck. If we swap out our underperforming senior players, all of a sudden we are a youth squad. The likes of Son Heung-min and James Maddison need to step up and bring some energy to the game. For me, all that can get us out of this is the return of our defence and one or two key signings in January.
Murray: Why does the boss persist with Timo Werner? He misses more chances than he gets, as he did at Chelsea. Dejan Kulusevski should be starting every game.
