Red Bull partner with EA Sports for 2024 F1 season – BlackBook Motorsport
The Red Bull Formula One team have agreed a promotional deal with EA Sports covering the 2024 season.
Contract:
- Red Bull will be a key partner in the lead up to the release of the F1 24 video game
- The team will also play a promotional role for EA Sports’ other titles, including EA Sports FC
- Max Verstappen will once again partner with the developer
Context:
With Verstappen’s background in gaming, which includes his own esports outfit Team Redline, it makes sense for EA Sports to expand its partnership from last year – which was just a personal endorsement deal with the Dutch driver – to include the wider Red Bull team.
Verstappen will continue to have EA branding on his helmets this season and this will extend to EA Sports F1-inspired helmet designs at select Grands Prix.
Comment:
“From F1 to football and from NFL to hockey, EA is synonymous with sports and with entertainment and we are delighted to bring them on board as a team partner,” said Red Bull Racing’s chief executive and team principal, Christian Horner.
“F1 is experiencing huge growth, appealing to new, young and diverse audiences all around the world, and for many of those fans, gaming is central to how they interact with racing and with Oracle Red Bull Racing.
“EA Sports has a proven ability to create truly immersive F1 games that take fans to the heart of what we do, allowing them to race as a hero such as Max or to embark on their own legendary racing careers. We’re thrilled to be part of that story and together with EA and with Max we look forward to taking F1 gaming to the next level with F1 24.”
