How do Key Biscayne residents commute throughout the county, and could specific changes be made to make it safer or more accommodating?
District 7 Commissioner Raquel Regalado wants to help, and she hopes to pinpoint areas of improvement through a Commuter Research Survey. The data will be shared with the non-profit organization Transit Alliance Miami.
“The purpose of this research is to support the work of the Commissioner to better serve transit riders and understand the challenges and opportunities faced by transit riders in her district,” the survey reads.
The estimated 3-minute survey, found at this link, requires only a first name, age bracket, zip code, and what you do for work—all of which is kept confidential. Everyone in District 7 is eligible to take the survey.
Questions include:
• How do you usually get around (with boxes to click on, such as the amount of days spent commuting using the Metromover, Metrobus, Metrorail, trolley, bikes, or even walking)?
• Are there specific problems you face when using public transit in this area, and what changes do you think would make it better?
• How easy is it to walk or ride a bike to public transit stops in this area (on a scale of 1 to 10)?
• What improvements would you like to see in the future?
