Remembering Marty Gamblin

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) – The Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Experience announced the death of Marty Gamblin in a post Thursday.

Gamblin was instrumental in establishing The MAX, served in the past as its Hall of Fame director, and had deep roots in the entertainment business.

Visit Mississippi said Gamblin began his long career in the music business booking bands while still in high school. He worked closely with Mississippi songwriter/performer Jim Weatherly, ran Glen Campbell’s publishing firm, and helped launch the career of Alan Jackson.

Gamblin has a marker on the Mississippi Music Trail at 249 Byrd Avenue in Philadelphia.
