Remote Jobs Paying $250,000+ Surge By 18%, New Data Shows
Ladders, the job board for high-earning jobs that pay at least $100,000 a year, just released new data on the availability of remote jobs over the past quarter. And its biggest takeaway? High-paying remote jobs are coming back.
According to the report’s findings, based on data collected from half a million job postings from July through September 2024 (Q3), these are the most significant shifts now occurring within the top echelons of remote job opportunities:
- An estimated 10% of high-paying jobs (defined as roles paying $100,000 or more) are now available as remote.
- In the last quarter, remote jobs that pay $250,000 and above spiked for the first time to 18% of all available roles.
- The highest competition for high-paying remote jobs that yield $250,000 or more a year is within marketing, HR, operations and management, sales and business development, and project management, which is not surprising given that these are the very fields which have held the most remote job opportunities.
- However, industries such as healthcare, science, and legal have much lower applicant competition for those wishing to achieve this salary benchmark.
This signifies a clear upward trend in remote work availability, despite some high-profile setbacks within the past few months.
How To Find High-Paying Remote Jobs In 2025
But the question is, how do you find these exclusive, high-paying jobs that offer salaries of $250,000 and up?
1. Target The Right Job Boards
It all begins with knowing exactly where to look. These high-level roles require specific expertise or years of experience and can sometimes be very niche. Visiting job boards dedicated to these types of salaries, like Ladders, or 100k Crossing—another niche job board which exclusively hosts job adverts for roles paying $100,000 or more, can help. You might also want to visit flexible job boards like FlexJobs and use their filters to narrow down what you’re looking for.
2. Attend Networking Events
The Christmas season is a social season, and you can utilize this opportunity to connect with other professionals, hiring managers, and decision-makers in your industry by attending end-of-year networking events and making connections.
Be deliberately vocal about your intentions of landing a high-paying remote job in 2025, and you might be able to gain some invaluable contacts or referrals for jobs before they become advertized publicly. This is usually referred to as the “hidden” job market, because many people may not know that those roles exist unless they tap into their network.
3. Optimize Your LinkedIn Profile
Especially for senior-level leadership roles, it’s essential to build a full LinkedIn profile (all sections completed) and ensure it has all the right keywords recruiters would use when headhunting. Include these keywords in your headline, about section, employment history, and most importantly, your skills section.
And of course, if you already work in a high-paying role, explore your remote work options with your manager to see if you can come to an arrangement that is mutually beneficial. With strategic preparation and networking, you can secure a high-paying remote job in 2025.
