This month marks the 30th anniversary of La Braderie de Mode Québécoise!

Since 1994, this essential event has showcased the creativity of Quebec’s fashion designers, bringing together fashion enthusiasts and creators.

With nearly 60 editions under its belt, La Braderie has evolved while staying true to its mission: providing an accessible platform for local designers and offering the public affordable fashion pieces.

The 60th edition will take place from October 24 to 27 at the iconic Marché Bonsecours.

An Industry in Transformation

Over the past three decades, La Braderie has witnessed the continuous reinvention of the fashion industry, adapting to consumer needs and evolving production practices. Today, fashion goes beyond aesthetics; it has become an integral part of our well-being. Clothing serves as a form of personal expression, combining colors, textures, and movement to reflect our emotions and daily needs.

The Urgency for Sustainable Fashion

In the face of the fast fashion boom, La Braderie reminds us that true creativity requires time, expertise, and thoughtful design. Low-cost, rapidly produced imitations harm both the intellectual property of designers and the environment. For La Braderie, fashion should be responsible and celebrate the artisans who shape it.

A New Initiative: “National Quebec Fashion Day” on September 24

In partnership with Yves Jean Lacasse, the designer behind the fashion house ENVERS, La Braderie plans to launch “National Quebec Fashion Day” on September 24, 2025. On this day, people will be encouraged to exclusively wear creations from Quebec designers. The goal is to highlight the talent and craftsmanship of local designers while emphasizing the importance of supporting this vital industry to Quebec’s economy.

30 Years of Passion for Local Fashion

This annual initiative aims to raise public awareness about the impact of their fashion choices by promoting more sustainable and responsible practices. By choosing locally made clothing, participants will help recognize the work of designers and reduce the environmental footprint of mass production.

Supporting the Local Economy and Quebec’s Culture

“National Quebec Fashion Day” will also provide an opportunity to foster a sense of belonging and pride in local fashion, while encouraging more thoughtful and sustainable consumption. This event aligns perfectly with La Braderie’s mission: to promote responsible and accessible fashion, grounded in values of authenticity and creativity.

An Exclusive Event, True to La Braderie’s DNA

Over the years, La Braderie has transformed into an exclusive showcase, embracing the trend of “less is more.” Like other aspects of life, fashion should be chosen with care, favoring a more sustainable and considered approach. The upcoming edition at Marché Bonsecours promises to be a celebration of fashion’s evolution, championing quality over quantity while staying true to the event’s roots.

As La Braderie de Mode Québécoise reaches this 30-year milestone, it continues to champion the local fashion scene, pushing for innovation and sustainable practices. The 60th edition is set to be a landmark event, reflecting on three decades of growth and commitment to Quebec’s fashion community.
