The sports betting charges former LSU football wide receiver Kayshon Boutte have been facing have reportedly been dropped.
ESPN reported Tuesday that Boutte’s attorneys said the Louisiana state police dropped all underage gambling and computer fraud charges against their client.
The now New England Patriots wide receiver was arrested in January in Baton Rouge on allegedly placing bets on himself, as well as LSU, while he was an active player. Felony counts of computer fraud as well as a misdemeanor charge of underage gambling were placed on him.
According to an affidavit from the Louisiana State police back in January, Boutte allegedly placed almost 9,000 bets using a different name and birth on a FanDuel Sportsbook account linked to his mother’s credit card. Investigators said that Boutte logged 17 bets on college football games, six of which were LSU games.

Boutte wagered more than $600,000 in total across all bets, per the affidavit.
In a school statement in January, LSU said it had no evidence that any other athletes at the school or within the football program had placed illegal bets.
The Patriots selected Boutte in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft after an up-and-down career with the Tigers.
