Report: Michigan among top five states for creating and implementing clean energy jobs

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – A recent report finds that Michigan is among the top five states in the country for creating and implementing clean energy jobs and projects.

That report comes from 5 Lakes Energy. It said Michigan attracted 62 major clean energy projects, created over 20,000 jobs, and received over $26 billion in new investments.

In 2023, Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed multiple clean energy policies.

• The average annual household energy savings in Michigan will be $297 by 2030 and $713 by 2040.
• $15.6 billion in IRA investments to the state by 2030, reaching $30.7 billion by 2040.

• The state will save $7.3 billion in public health costs by 2030, rising to $27.8 billion by 2040.
