Richard Madeley reveals he was dropped from “big entertainment show”

Richard Madeley has revealed that he was once axed from an entertainment show, (via Metro).

The presenter shared the news onGood Morning Britain, whilst he and Susanna Reid interviewed actor David Harewood.

The star was asked about a post on his X/Twitter account, in which he revealed he had been promised a role that was scrapped at the last minute.

Madeley then explained why he had brought up the subject of axing, admitting he had experienced a similar situation.

“The reason why I wanted you to talk about that a very similar thing happened to me a couple of years ago,” he said. “I did a pilot for a big, big new entertainment show, I was told that it had gone well.”

The presenter didn’t share any details about the show, only revealing that it had been picked up for a series and later given to another person. “We had got the commission, we got the pilot and we got a series of 30 and then they gave it to somebody else! So that’s our life.”

Sharing his sympathy, Harewood reassured Madeley. “They went somewhere else, Richard? You can’t tell me they went somewhere else, you are a star!'” he chuckled.

Elsewhere, Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway recently shared a sweet milestone with her daughter Darcey. “And just like that she was off! That tiny helpless baby we brought home from hospital 18 yrs ago has gone to #uni!” Garraway shared on an Instagram post.

“Such an emotional moment on so many levels & boy is the house quiet. But Darcey we couldn’t be prouder of you starting this new chapter in your life & know your Dad is with you all the way.”
