Ricochet ‘Embarrassed’ On Worlds End By Former AEW World Champion
Former World Champion brutally embarrasses Ricochet during Worlds End.
In the first match of the night, Will Ospreay defeated Kyle Fletcher in a bloodied encounter and advanced to the finals of the Continental Classic. In the night’s second bout, fans witnessed Kazuchika Okada keep Ricochet down after a hard-fought victory.
While Okada advanced to the finals and is now set to face Will Ospreay later in the night, ‘Mr. High Fly’ was left processing his loss in the ring. While the former Intercontinental Champion contemplated his loss, ex-World Champion Swerve Strickland would confront him.
Berating him and calling out his ‘cocky’ behavior, Strickland handed out toilet rolls to the ringside crowd. Creating the moment from the 21st December episode of Collision. During last week’s Collision episode at the Hammerstein Ballroom, fans welcomed Will Ospreay with streamers, while they hurled toilet paper rolls at the former WWE star.
Wishing a happy new year to the former champion, Strickland advises the fans to hurl the rolls at him upon a count of three. Soon enough, standing in the ring filled with toilet papers, the cameras zoomed in on, an almost teary-eyed Ricochet fuming. In the words of Nigel Nigel McGuinness, Strickland ’embarrassed’ the star just seconds after his loss.
The High Flying Ace has shown signs of a heel turn recently, leaving fans wondering if this is the start of a major change in his character.
Ricochet Claims AEW Would Not Exist Without Him
Speaking on 103.5 Kiss FM Hot Tag with Brad, Ricochet opened up on his role in shaping All Elite Wrestling’s history and formation. Declaring himself as a major part of the promotion’s inception, he said:
Absolutely. I’m not saying I’m the sole reason. I’m just saying, if there wasn’t Ricochet, there wouldn’t be AEW. I’m not saying I’m the sole reason that it happened, but I am saying, what I have done with Ospreay, with Pac, with AR Fox, with Dragon Gate, with PWG, with everything. Overseas. New Japan.”
