Road, business closures due to rain

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The excessive rain and flooding in southeast South Dakota has caused multiple businesses, roads and events to close down for Friday, June 21.

Lincoln County

Harold Timmerman, the Lincoln County Emergency Manager, told KELOLAND News they are advising no travel until the rain stops.

“Until we get through the next round of rain we are advising no travel if you don’t have to,” Timmerman said.

US-18 between I-29 and Iowa State Line

According to South Dakota 511, travelers can expect blocked roads and flooding. Consider an alternate route until further notice. The I-29 between Iowa State Line and Sioux Falls has roads closed due to a construction project that has been flooded out.

I-90 near Brandon

South Dakota 511 says travelers can expect flooding westbound until further notice from 3 miles east to 1 mile east of US 81-Exit 364.
