Rochester celebrates small business week at 2nd annual Monroe County resource fair

Brighton, N.Y. – This week is small business weekend and there are celebrations all across Rochester.

People gathered at Monroe Community College for the 2nd annual Monroe County Small Business Resource Fair on Tuesday.

The event provided opportunities for small business owners to network, access resources, and attend presentations all to help them grow.

The Small Business Administration recognized three Monroe County small business owners with awards.

• Small Business Person of the Year: Jim Terhune, T & T Materials, Inc.
• Small Business Young Entrepreneur of the Year: Orest Ravlyk, Lexington Diesel, Inc.
• Veteran Owned Small Business Person of the Year: Darren Davis, R.D.C Shoe Company, LLC

“Small businesses are the engine of our local economy,” said County Executive Adam Bello in a statement. “I encourage our residents to shop local and support our small businesses. Together, we can build a stronger, more resilient Monroe County.”
