Rochester men sentenced for role in illegal gambling ring | Fingerlakes1.com

Two Rochester men have been sentenced to three years’ probation with 10 months of home detention for their involvement in an illegal gambling operation. U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Wolford handed down the sentences to Louis P. Ferrari, II, 42, and Dominic Sprague, 40, who also forfeited a combined total of over $240,000 from their gambling activities.

Federal prosecutors detailed how Ferrari and Sprague conspired with others between April 2019 and April 2021 to run a bookmaking business generating $2,000 in daily revenue. The pair used the website sport700.com to manage bets and payments, with Ferrari coordinating through phone calls and texts.

The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations, the IRS, New York State Police, and local law enforcement agencies, with assistance from the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office.
