Rogue Fitness is Developing an Echo RowErg Rower
Caity Matter Henniger is the co-founder and Chief Sales Officer at Rogue Fitness. Yesterday, Caity posted an Instagram story a photo of the backend of a RowErg. While most probably saw that and moved on, if you look closely the rower in the photo is not from Concept 2.
With ‘ECHO’ on the slide rail on a black powder-coated heavy-duty steel, you quickly realize that Rogue has been working on making a new rower.
Details are obviously limited given that only the back section of the Echo Rower is visible, but the seat and caster wheels look very similar to that of the Concept 2 Rower. The slide is connected to a detachable heavy-duty steel leg via screws.
This would not be the first time Rogue Fitness has developed a conditioning machine. In 2017, Rogue released its own fan bike, the Rogue Echo Bike. Over the past seven years, the Echo Bike has supplanted the Assault AirBike in competitions and in many CrossFit gyms around the world due to its belt-driven steel fan blade and its 123-pound “overbuilt” frame.
(note: the new Assault Bike ProX does now features a belt-drive system)
Rogue also partnered with Woodway to create the Rogue | Woodway Curve LTG Treadmill. While still new, the Assault AirRunner is the curved treadmill of choice for most CrossFit gyms and competitions.
Obviously it is unclear when Rogue will release its new Echo Rower as it is not on the Rogue Fitness website. However, I would not be surprised if it is unveiled at the 2024 Rogue Invitational this November.
