New Delhi: Virat Kohli is arguably one of the fittest cricketers in the world. Kohli set exemplary fitness standards in the dressing room during his stint as the captain of the Indian team and continues to remain an inspiration for several budding cricketers around the world. Kohli follows a strict diet and fitness regime which helps him stay on top of his game.

Recently, a shirtless picture of Kohli went viral on social media where he can be seen posing near a pool. The picture surfaced on social media ahead of India’s clash against Australia in St Lucia in the Super Eight stage of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. While some were left in awe of Kohli’s chiselled abs and his exceptional fitness, others took a dig at Indian skipper Rohit Sharma.

Rohit was unnecessarily dragged into the conversation after Kohli’s picture went viral as fans brutally trolled the Indian captain over his fitness. Rohit might not be the fittest but is one of the best batters in the world at present. He is also currently leading India across all formats of the game and is carrying the country’s hopes as captain in the T20 World Cup 2023.

Kohli is currently in action for India in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 and has been opening the batting with skipper Rohit. The duo have failed to deliver consistently as a pair and have struggled to provide good starts to the team at the top. Nonetheless, India have enjoyed a stellar run in the tournament so far and are currently on an unbeaten streak as they aim to make it to the semi-finals.

How have Kohli and Rohit performed in T20 World Cup 2024?

Kohli has so far managed only 66 runs in five innings for India in the T20 World Cup 2024 without even a single half-century. His 37-run knock against Bangladesh in India’s last Super Eight match last week remains his highest score in the tournament so far. Kohli has three single-digit scores in five innings, including a duck and needs to spark a turnaround as the tournament heads towards its business end.

Meanwhile, Rohit has so far notched up 99 runs in five innings for India, including a solitary half-century which came in the team’s tournament opener against Ireland. Rohit has scores of 4,0, 24 and 37 in his last four outings and will be hoping to get back among the runs in the crucial Super 8 clash against Australia on Monday.
