Route 22, I-78, Airport Road travel disruptions likely for presidential campaign visits

Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled to be in Allentown on Monday afternoon, though the exact location has yet to be disclosed. And former President Donald Trump, who was in Allentown last week, is scheduled to hold a rally at the Santander Arena in Reading on Monday afternoon.

Tuesday is Election Day, and with Pennsylvania being a key battleground state, the candidates are pulling out all the stops to persuade any undecided voters.

State police spokesman Nathan Branosky said folks should anticipate traffic delays and intermittent road closures from 1 to 6 p.m. in the following areas:

Airport Road in Hanover Township
• Route 22 westbound
• Cedar Crest Boulevard
• Tilghman Street in Allentown
• Route 309
• Interstate 78 westbound
• Route 61 in Berks County

“It is anticipated these traffic disruptions will cause other roads throughout the region to also be impacted,” a state police advisory said.

Branosky says motorists can use www.511pa.com to follow the most up-to-date travel conditions throughout the region.
