Runway Red 2025: Fashion, Fun, And Fundraising For HIV Services

The most popular fundraising event in Henderson is coming back in early 2025. Matthew 25 AIDS Services has announced plans for the next Runway Red fashion show. It’s coming up Saturday, March 1st at the Preston Arts Center on the campus of Henderson Community and Technical College.

WHAT IS RUNWAY RED?

Runway Red is ‘where fashion meets philanthropy’ in support of Matthew 25. The event has grown since its inception and, because of its continually increasing popularity, moved to the Preston Arts Center in 2024. The event features an exclusive VIP dinner, cash bar and a ‘vibrant’ fashion show that features local models dressed in the latest spring and summer collections from a variety of area boutiques.

WHAT IS MATTHEW 25 AIDS SERVICES?

The mission of Matthew 25 is simple really.

We exist to serve those at risk for, living with, or impacted by HIV or other STIs through inclusive healthcare, education, & support while fostering community partnerships to combat stigma & improve overall healthcare & quality of life.

I am excited to share that I will be back to host Runway Red for the second consecutive year. Last year, I may have ended up dancing on chairs in the audience. Allegedly.

I became been involved with Matthew 25 AIDS Services about three years ago. We were asked to help spread the word about National HIV Testing Day, which takes place annually in June.

NATIONAL HIV TESTING DAY

Matthew 25 teams up with Walgreens locations in Owensboro, Henderson and Bowling Green for free annual testing events. In 2022, I decided- to truly help increase awareness about HIV and the importance of routine testing- to get tested live on the air. That’s a trend that has continued since. In fact, this past June, I actually got tested during a Facebook Live event so people could see exactly what that process looks like. My radio cohost Mary-Katherine Maddox joined me.
