Ryan Lindgren Placed On Injured Reserve With Upper-body Injury

Ryan Lindgren has been placed on Injured reserve by the New York Rangers.

After fighting Scott Mayfield in the Rangers’ second preseason game, Lingren sustained an upper-body injury, which kept him out for the rest of training camp.

When asked about Lindgren’s status, Peter Laviolette basically confirmed that Lindgren will not be available for the season opener.

“Right now it’s still the same timeline.” Laviolette said. “He hasn’t been out with us, so it’s still the same timeline. Nothing has really changed.”

Lindgren did skate on his own, which is a positive sign. This most likely means that he will miss the first few games, but his timetable to return is still unknown.

This past season the 26-year-old recorded three goals, 14 assists and 17 points in 76 games while averaging 19:21 minutes.
