Salesforce launches small-business integrated commerce suites

In a recent survey of 2,700 small but growing businesses, Salesforce Inc. found that 54% of small-business revenue “is expected to come from digital channels by 2025.”

That’s up from 42% in 2023.

To support that level of digital omnichannel business, Salesforce has released Starter and Pro versions of integrated commerce suites built on the Salesforce CRM platform with an integrated interface for ecommerce, sales agents, service and marketing.

Salesforce unifies customer data across departments

“By unifying all customer data and touchpoints across these traditionally disparate departments, Salesforce gives growth customers the necessary data foundation to deliver a connected commerce experience,” the company says.

“Whether their customers are buying online through the storefront, engaging with sales teams to make a purchase, or asking for help, they will now be able to deliver a fully connected experience,” says Kris Billmaier, executive vice president and general manager, Salesforce Self-Service & Growth.

Salesforce says the new storefront software includes a “step-by-step ecommerce setup for fast onboarding, a low-code designer to build branded storefronts, centralized merchandising tools to manage products and prices, and pre-built performance dashboards to help streamline operations and increase revenue.”

Salesforce Pro Suite provides sales quoting and forecasting

Salesforce notes that its Starter Suite, with fees starting at $25 per user per month, comes with dynamic email marketing and analytics, out-of-the-box sales processes, customer service and a “simplified” storefront builder.

The Pro Suite starts at $100 per user per month and includes all Starter Suite features, plus enhanced, real-time chat, more customization and automation, sales quoting and forecasting. The Pro Suite also provides  access to the Salesforce AppExchange, an online marketplace of specialized business apps for such purposes as marketing automation, financial accounting, and data protection.

Justin Fleming, the owner of technology consulting firm Clicks N Code, says in a Salesforce press release that he has provided a better ecommerce customer experience while speeding up his invoicing process.

He says his online customers now can “go to a checkout page and pay in a matter of seconds with the payment method of their choice.” He also notes that Click N Code has reduced its invoicing time “from 50 minutes per invoice to only five minutes.”

Last month, Salesforce launched for larger companies an AI-powered, next-generation, unified commerce version of Salesforce Commerce Cloud.

In North America, 76 of the top 2000 online retailers use Salesforce as their ecommerce platform, according to Digital Commerce 360 data.
