Salina Downtown hosts Small Business Appreciation Week
SALINA, Kan. (KWCH) – Small businesses in Salina are getting a little busier this week with Salina Downtown, Inc. hosting Small Business Appreciation Week.
Speaking in support of small businesses throughout the city, Salina Downtown Event Planner April Rickman said they are vital to the city’s success.
“Small businesses make up so much of our local economy. They give jobs to people in Salina and (those) kinds of things,” Rickman said. Salina Downtown is growing. Salina Downtown has been growing.”
Representing Salina’s small business community, 1858 Coffeehouse Owner Todd Welsh discussed the importance of the support.
“We’re super excited. This is our second week we’re going to be opening up right behind our real estate company and we came down here and chose the community, the Salina community and everything that they’re offering,” Welsh said.
He said he’s grateful to see the growth happening in Salina’s business community.
“We’re watching a whole new turnaround of what downtown Salina is bringing to the community,” Welsh said.
