Sample iconic Italian fashion, food, and culture at Bloomingdale’s

If you’re dreaming of an Italian escape or simply craving a splash of limoncello, Bloomingdale’s has you covered with its latest collection, From Italy, With Love. The collection showcases the essence of Italian style, with over 150 brands contributing 300 exclusive designs featuring iconic names like Valentino, Ferragamo, Missoni, and more.

Bloomingdale’s was established in New York City in 1861 by Joseph and Lyman Bloomingdale and initially focused on selling the latest trend: the hoop skirt. Unlike other stores that focused on a single item, the Bloomingdale Brothers expanded into diverse styles and products, introducing European fashions to America and pioneering what we now know as a department store.

Today, Bloomingdale’s is reconnecting with its heritage by bringing Italian culture and style to the heart of New York. For those fortunate enough to visit the 59th Street flagship store, you’re in for an immersive experience. The store is transformed into a vibrant celebration of Italian culture, complete with cooking demonstrations and installations that will whisk you away to the scenic landscapes of Cinque Terre to Noli — all without leaving New York. Find everything from Italian fashion for men and women to design, cuisine, and culture.

“We are always looking for ways to prioritize and elevate the customer experience and create a fun environment for discovery,” said Frank Berman, CMO of Bloomingdale’s. “From Italy, With Love drew inspiration from the spirit of Bloomingdale’s successful import fairs in the ’70s.”

The 150-year-old store is proudly hosting the renowned Salone del Mobile, featuring a unique installation curated by architect Ferruccio Laviani. The celebration will also feature a stunning façade takeover on Lexington Avenue, inspired by the picturesque Italian coast. A variety of activities and cooking demonstrations will also be showcased, running through the end of October.

You can even taste a slice of Italy through its shoppable pantry, Il Mercato, which features gourmet foods from multiple regions throughout the country.

Shoppers unable to attend the festivities can participate through interactive events on social media and purchase the exquisite collections online. So grab your little brown bag and let the festivities begin.
