Samsung Working On A Mysterious ‘Slim’ Model Of The Galaxy S25, Slated To Launch Early Next Year To Compete Against The iPhone 17 Air
Apple has brought little to no innovation with the iPhone 16 lineup’s design, and while the company could get away with it for another year, it ultimately has to shift to something more competitive and engaging. We have previously heard that the company is working on its thinnest iPhone to date, which will potentially see daylight in the second half of next year. However, Apple’s iPhone 17 Air is already gearing up to have some serious competition from Samsung, as it is also working on a Galaxy S25 Slim model, which could be launched alongside the rest of the lineup.
Samsung is going head-to-head with Apple in terms of design innovation, as the company is making a ‘Slim’ variant of the Galaxy S25 to compete against the iPhone 17 Air
Apple’s rendition of the ultra-thin iPhone will be marketed as the company’s flagship model, but it will have its fair share of differences with the ‘Pro’ models that suggest otherwise. For instance, the device is slated to feature a single-lens camera at the back with a chip on par with the standard models instead of the iPhone 17 Pro. Nonetheless, it could still be priced higher than the ‘Pro’ models only because of its ‘Slim’ form factor. Samsung is already working on the Galaxy S25 Slim, which will be competing against Apple’s ultra-thin iPhone, but details on the design are scarce at this stage.
SmartPrix has obtained information on Samsung’s mysterious device with a model number of SM-S937, which is a version of the Galaxy S25 lineup but not the one the company typically releases. The model numbers for the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra have already been leaked, and the latest model number does not respond to any of them.
It was reported recently that Samsung is working on a ‘Slim’ version of the Galaxy S25, and while there are no details available on the design, it would make sense to assume that the fourth variant will compete against Apple’s iPhone 17 Air. How thin Samsung will go with the Galaxy S25 Slim to tackle Apple’s upcoming design shift remains to be seen, and we are certain that there will be some differences compared to its Galaxy S25 lineup.
As for the iPhone 17 Air, we expect an ultra-thin design, but the company recently ran into an issue that limits its approach to achieving the thinness it initially desired. We have previously covered that the company’s iPhone 17 Air will be no thinner than the iPhone 6 which launched almost a decade ago. The device is also slated to feature a smaller Dynamic Island and the model will replace the iPhone 17 Plus in Apple’s iPhone lineup.
As mentioned, Samsung is going head-to-head with Apple when it comes to introducing an innovative design and judging by the release time frame, the South Korean giant will be the first to debut a slimmer phone. We will possibly get additional leaks on the device, so be sure to stick around for more.
