SAPD career fair showcases wide variety of police department jobs

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Police Department hosted a career fair on Saturday as part of their effort to bring on recruits.

On Saturday, the department hosted its Specialized Unit Career Fair at its South Side training complex to showcase the different positions and jobs the department has to offer.

Attendees could speak with officers of various ranks and positions, as well as members from different teams.

The department had representatives from multiple different units:

• Homicide
• Special Victims Unit
• Mental Health Detail
• SWAT
• Hostage Negotiators
• K9 Detail
• “Raven” Drone Unit
• CSI Unit

Officers across the department of all different ranks and units were at the event to discuss their experiences in the department and the opportunities the department offers.

“We’re always looking for more potential applicants, we’re needing more people every day. It’s also a great opportunity to socialize with our community,” said SAPD Recruiting Officer Sarai Meneses.
