Save $800 Off the 2024 48″ LG B4 4K OLED TV – IGN
For this week only, Best Buy has discounted the newest 48″ LG B4 4K OLED Smart TV to $799.99. That’s nearly 50% off the $1500 MSRP and a great price for a current gen LG OLED TV. Given the fact that this is one of the smaller LG OLED TVs on the market, it can also double as an outstanding gaming monitor.

The LG B4 OLED TV is less expensive than the C4, but it’s still an excellent TV for PS5 and Xbox Series X gamers. That’s because this is a 2024 model true 4K OLED TV with HDMI 2.1 inputs for native 4K gaming at up to 120Hz refresh rate. In fact, the B4 now has four HDMI 2.1 inputs compared to the two HDMI 2.1 inputs found on the 2023 B3 model. This is also the first year that the LG B-series OLED TV has a smaller 48″ size. That’s great for us PC gamers who want to use this as a big gaming monitor, because that means we don’t need to spend extra on a 48″ C4 model, which currently costs $500 more.
Why Choose an OLED TV?
OLED TVs are considered the absolute best TVs you can buy right now for HDR and gaming. OLED panels offer a nearly instantaneous (0.03ms) response time and the black levels and contrast ratio are far better than any other panel on the market. I’ve used OLED monitors for the last four years and the only way I’ll switch to another panel is if they release something even better in the future. OLED TVs are also improving in brightness every year and there are many features in place to help minimize burn-in. That’s especially important for PC gamers who tend to leave their screen on for long periods of time, especially on static desktop screens. In terms of picture quality, the B4 is comparable to the 2023 LG C3. If you were waiting around for a discount on the prior year C3, you should get this deal instead.
This is an affordable yet high end OLED gaming monitor.
When it comes to high end gaming monitors, there are so many options to choose from. But one thing is certain, you can’t go wrong with OLED. OLED displays blow away any IPS, VA, TN monitor in terms of raw image quality. The biggest disadvantage of OLED monitors have been their premium price. OLED monitors 48″ and up still cost over $1000. This is a great way to score the same size OLED TV for hundreds less. You won’t have some of the features you get with a dedicated monitor, like a more anti-reflective display, DisplayPort connectivity, and an adjustable stand, but the tradeoffs might be worth it for you.
