Sullivan County Community Hospital celebrated Family Health and Fitness Month by holding their third annual “Family Fit Friday” event Friday, June 21, encouraging family members of all ages to come together and engage in various fitness activities.
This year’s festivities included a color run, in which runners were fully doused in multicolored powders throughout the one-mile dash. Family Fit Day participants were also treated to free snow cones accompanied with snacks/drinks, bounce houses, life-sized board games, common yard games, face painting, inflatable obstacle courses, and other outdoor games. As the annual event continues to grow, SCCH Fitness Center hopes to introduce more community members to the services they offer through their facilities.
SCCH’s Fitness Center stresses the importance of fitness for families, giving them a space to practice safe fitness together. “We want to encourage an active lifestyle in families beginning at a young age,” says Fitness Center director Drew Hogue. “Not only is family fitness necessary to instill good lifestyle values in children, but we also wanted to focus on the importance of family time. Being able to bring families together, our peers, our community… that is what we strive for.”
SCCH would like to thank everyone who came out to the event and SCCH Fitness Center hopes to see you next June!
