Entertainment
See all the entertainment possibilities of Granite Bay home. How big is it? How much?
Besides basking in classic Granite Bay grandeur, one of the most expensive homes for sale in this wealthy Sacramento area enclave packs a big entertainment and high-tech punch with an interior living space equal in size to three midtown lots.
The extraordinary six-bedroom, seven-bathroom estate in Granite Bay’s exclusive gated Los Lagos community unfolds over 8,967 square feet. An average residential lot in midtown Sacramento is about 3,000 square feet. Nearly three of those lots could fit under the roof of the house.
Sitting on 1.9-acres, the elegant home at 6345 Barcelona Court recently hit the market for $4.2 million. That price tag puts the property in the top five most expensive single-family homes in Granite Bay. The most expensive listing in Granite Bay is a $5.2 million, 9,644-square-foot mansion on three acres.
The Barcelona Court estate has known only one owner since the lot was purchased in 2003, according to public property records. The residence was custom-built in 2009 by local award-winning builder The Hills Group.
The seller is retired after a career in the home-entertainment distribution business — which can be appreciated in the residence’s emphasis on leisure and recreational activities in multi-functional spaces and its integrated technology.
For example, there’s a large game room, 10-seat home theater, bar and exercise room inside.
Infinity-edge pool
Outdoors, the focal point is an infinity-edge pool that cascades down to a shallow wading level. The grounds have a covered outdoor kitchen with a fireplace, manicured landscaping and pleasant garden paths that lead down to a second fire pit.
The opulent primary suite is basically a serene retreat with a sitting area, glass-enclosed porch and spa-inspired bath.
Through the grand entrance, the home is spotlighted by soaring vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors and lots of natural light. A luxurious fireplace highlights the formal living room, and a family room is set up for more intimate gatherings and everyday living.
At the heart of the residence is the open chef’s kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, custom cabinetry a butler’s pantry and prep kitchen.
Matthew Hindy, the listing agent with Nick Sadek Sotheby’s International Realty, noted the layout of the house is one of the home’s best features whether you’re hosting a large gathering or just chilling.
‘Smart house’
“It’s very private, but has a very flowing floor plan,” he said. “It’s a great layout in regards to if you’re on one side of the house, you won’t hear anything going on on the other side of the house.”
The technology in the home makes it a “smart house,” Hindy said. The comfort and ambiance of individual zones, lighting and audio are all controlled from a centralized panel.
“You can control all the speakers throughout the house and in the backyard, and they’re all individual zones,’ he said. “So you can (raise) the lighting in one room, lower the lighting in another room, especially when you’re hosting, instead of having to go through every single room.”
Another big selling point is the home’s privacy behind the gates of Los Lagos with 24-hour guarded security, Hindy said.
The owners are selling because they’ve decided to downsize and move to the Bay Area to be closer to family, Hindy said.
Granite Bay is primarily a residential suburb of Sacramento near the recreational charms of Folsom Lake.
Hindy said he expects multiple offers to come in over the next several days.
