Selena Gomez Puts a Handsome Twist on Bridal Fashion in a White Tuxedo
Following the press tour for Emilia Pérez, it’s clear Selena Gomez has mastered black-tie fashion. While on her red-carpet streak, the singer and actor has slipped into velvet black gowns and sequin-embellished ensembles alike.
As Gomez stepped out last night at the 36th Annual Palm Springs International Film Awards, however, it became clear she wasn’t finished with her chic spree of looks. Taking a sartorial risk, she suited up in a blinding white tuxedo, custom made by Ralph Lauren Suit. Her three-piece ensemble included a tailored coat and wide-legged pants, and underneath, she layered even more details.
The newly engaged star further showed off her bold take on bridal fashion by taking off her jacket, revealing a sleeveless, fitted vest top that flaunted a white collar and tie attached with a sheer panel. She complemented the sleek look by slicking her hair back into a bun, as well as opting for a sharp winged eyeliner and coral lipstick.
To round out her ensemble, Gomez wore a pair of sparkling Bucherer Baguette Love Earrings, as well as a matching Bucherer Baguette Love Ring. Of course, she also wore her marquise diamond engagement ring from fiancé Benny Blanco.
Later in the night, Gomez and the cast of Emilia Pérez were awarded the festival’s Vanguard Award. As she accepted the award alongside her co-stars, including Karla Sofia Gascón, Zoe Saldaña, and Edgar Ramírez, they all beamed with pride.
In a recent interview with W, Gomez revealed what attracted her to the film’s initial script, citing “pure curiosity.” She added: “I love working with incredible filmmakers—that’s usually what I’m drawn to the most. When I read the script, I thought it was extremely thought-provoking, visceral, and groundbreaking. But some films may not turn out that way. I really felt that [director] Audiard is just so spectacular that the movie was in really good hands.”
